Hong Kong-born Nicholas Worley had his twin sons on his lap as he flipped through a book compiled by his father, filled with old photographs and memories of family members long gone.

“After my grandfather passed away in 1999, my dad spent three years putting together the book with the help of family notes, interviews and genealogists, but even he says it’s not complete,” he said.

Worley, 41, who has British roots, decided to create something more comprehensive and lasting for his children, and for families keen to preserve cherished memories through the generations.

“Hard copies and things can be lost,” he said. “I wanted to create something for my family and offer it to others. I don’t like the idea of anyone being forgotten.”

After working in public relations for 15 years, he took some time out this year and developed Inalife, which he described as a digital legacy platform.

On it, subscribers can create memory albums with a family tree, pictures, video clips, sound recordings and more.

The platform is designed to expand as more family members are added, and they can extend the branches of the family tree, building their own collections of memories that can be shared with anyone given access.
