Signs of a flammable liquid discovered at scene; no injuries or arrests reported
A roadside rubbish bin outside the Hong Kong government headquarters was thought to have been torched on Tuesday, prompting a police investigation.
Emergency personnel were called in soon after 11.30am when a security guard, 63, found the bin in flames on the pavement outside the government offices on Harcourt Road in Admiralty. The fire was later extinguished.
A police spokesman said no casualties were reported and no evacuation was needed.
He added that the circumstances were suspicious as signs of a flammable solution were found at the scene.
