Plastic surgeon, 86, involved in Hong Kong’s first Botox fatality released on bail

An 86-year-old plastic surgeon involved in Hong Kong’s first Botox fatality was released on bail on Wednesday.
Dr Franklin Li Wang-pong, who was arrested for breaching the dangerous drugs ordinance and misleading police officers, has to report back to police in late December, pending further investigation.
The veteran surgeon made headlines after a 52-year-old top female banker, Zoe Cheung Shuk-ling, died on Monday morning following Botox injections to her cheek, jaw and above the brow at his clinic inside the Grand Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui the previous day.
This is the third investigation into cases of suspected Botox poisoning this month.
Swiss private bank Julius Baer confirmed Cheung was a managing director and senior relationship manager at the bank, but refused to comment further.
“We have sent our deepest condolences to her family. With due respect, we will not comment further,” a spokeswoman said.
