Man charged with one count of escaping from lawful custody after being recaptured by Hong Kong police

  • Defendant, 34, expected to appear in Eastern Court on Monday
  • Two others, aged 31 and 33, charged with aiding and abetting escape from lawful custody

A 34-year-old man who was recaptured on Saturday after allegedly escaping from Hong Kong police through the ceiling of a public hospital toilet the previous day was on Sunday charged with one count of escaping from lawful custody.

He was expected to appear in Eastern Court on Monday.

Two other men, aged 31 and 33, who were arrested in connection with the case, were each charged with aiding and abetting escape from lawful custody.

The pair will also appear in Eastern Court on Monday.
