Hong Kong primary school teacher charged with indecent assault over behaviour 30 years ago
- Five ex-pupils of Sai Kung school have filed reports against 56-year-old
A Hong Kong primary school teacher has been charged with indecent assault following accusations made in February about his behaviour 30 years ago.
Five ex-pupils of Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic School in Sai Kung have filed reports against 56-year-old Mak Lung-yee, a discipline master for the primary section.
On Tuesday Mak was charged with eight counts of indecent assault following his arrest back in March. He has been suspended from the school.
Mak is set to appear at Kwun Tong Court next Tuesday. Hong Kong’s Wong Tai Sin district crime squad is handling the case.
The government’s Education Bureau declined to comment as legal proceedings were in progress. It only said it would keep in close contact with the school and provide assistance.
