Boy hit and trapped under train on Tuen Mun light rail line in Hong Kong

A boy was hit and trapped under a train on the Light Rail line in Tuen Mun on Monday night.

Police said they received a report about the accident – at the San Wai stop along Tin King Road – at 8.40pm.

Officers added that, according to eyewitnesses, the boy was hit while using a pedestrian crossing.

The victim, 11, was conscious when he was pulled from under the vehicle and sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment on his injuries, which were to his lower body.

The MTR said on its website that its staff were handling the situation, and apologised for the inconvenience. The accident led to disruption on the local service, which lasted about an hour.
