A boy was hit and trapped under a train on the Light Rail line in Tuen Mun on Monday night.
Police said they received a report about the accident – at the San Wai stop along Tin King Road – at 8.40pm.
Officers added that, according to eyewitnesses, the boy was hit while using a pedestrian crossing.
The victim, 11, was conscious when he was pulled from under the vehicle and sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment on his injuries, which were to his lower body.
The MTR said on its website that its staff were handling the situation, and apologised for the inconvenience. The accident led to disruption on the local service, which lasted about an hour.

Soon after 10pm the rail operator said Light Rail services were gradually resuming, as the incident had been cleared.
During the disruption, there were diversions on four routes. Route 505 did not stop between Siu Hong and San Wai; route 507 did not stop between Tin King and San Wai; and routes 615 and 615P did not stop between Ching Chung and San Wai.


Affected passengers were offered a free MTR shuttle bus service. They were also called on to consider using other transport.
