A Hong Kong man sobbed and banged his head on the table in court on Wednesday after a jury dismissed his claim that he was seduced by his Indonesian helper, instead finding him guilty of raping and molesting her on four occasions.

Tsang Wai-sun, 55, had testified at trial that it was the helper, then 27, who first kissed him and hinted that she wanted to have sex just days after she reported for duty on December 10, 2017.

But a High Court jury of six men and one woman rejected his story in four majority verdicts following nine hours of deliberation.

The unemployed man initially turned to the public gallery for support upon hearing he had been found guilty of indecent assault.

He then started sobbing and banging his head and fist on the table in the dock as he was further convicted of another count of indecent assault and two more of rape.
