Hong Kong boy, 17, charged with indecently assaulting classmate at Hilton hotel in China’s Suzhou

A 17-year-old boy attending a prestigious international school in Hong Kong has been charged with the indecent assault of a classmate that allegedly took place during a trip to Suzhou in eastern China.

The boy, who lives in South Bay on Hong Kong Island, made his first court appearance on Tuesday to face two counts.

His name has been withheld to prevent any identification of the complainant.

Prosecutors said the alleged assaults took place on two occasions – January 31 and February 2 last year, at the Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Suzhou.

Eastern Court heard his alleged victim, a girl identified only as X in court, was no longer attending their school.

Indecent assault carries a maximum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment in Hong Kong.
