The lawsuit was brought by two men, Raymond John Gulliver and David Solomon Vereker, in Hong Kong’s High Court, according to a legal document made available on Wednesday.

But Zeman, chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Group, dismissed the allegations, calling the claim frivolous and without basis.

“Given the very serious nature of this claim and the questionable facts reportedly behind these accusations, I have promptly passed this matter to my solicitors to deal with as appropriate,” he said in a statement. “I am shocked by the frivolity of this alleged claim.”

The entertainment mogul added that the allegations were false and he reserved the right to a counter legal action.

Zeman’s best known tie to Macau is through his role as non-executive chairman of Wynn Macau, a subsidiary of US-based hotel and casino firm Wynn Resorts.
