Hong Kong police are investigating after the bodies of two women were found in a Tuen Mun flat on Wednesday.

According to police, the mother, surnamed Lo, was 61 years old and her daughter, surnamed Sen, was 31 years old.

A police spokesman said initial investigation found nothing suspicious and an autopsy would be carried out to establish the cause of their deaths.

The pair, who paid two years’ rent in advance and moved into the flat in mid-2017, had been dead for a long time, a police source said.

Officers were called to the Eldo Court flat on Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road after the landlady called them at 12.37pm. She had been trying to contact her tenants for the past few months, without success, police said.

“The bodies had been badly decomposed and initial examination showed the pair had been dead for a long time,” the source said.
