Three bodies found in Hong Kong flat after police receive call from man locked outside home

  • The dead are the man’s wife and two children, whom he says had collapsed inside their home
  • It is unclear why he was locked outside. An investigation is under way

Three dead bodies were found after police and firefighters forced their way into a flat in Hong Kong’s New Territories on Saturday afternoon.

Police received a call at 12.47pm from a man who claimed to be locked out of his home at Sea Crest Villa in Sham Tseng.

Emergency teams arrived at around 1pm and found three dead bodies at the scene. They were the man’s wife, 46, as well as their son, 17, and daughter, 21.

“He suspected that his wife and two children collapsed inside the unit, so he called for help,” a police source said.

It was not known why the man was outside the flat at the time.

The cause of death is now under investigation.
