- Another driver, 30, who also jumped the red light at the junction just ahead of the accident, surrendered herself to police on Monday

A 33-year-old car driver at the centre of a fatal traffic accident in Hong Kong’s Sha Tin district on Sunday has been given bail pending further police investigations.
The woman, who was behind the wheel of a white Audi, was arrested for dangerous driving causing death on Sunday after reportedly going through a red light at a junction of Tai Chung Kiu Road and colliding with a green minibus.
Online dashcam footage also showed the Audi followed another black private car in jumping the red light before hitting the minibus. The 30-year-old driver of the black vehicle surrendered herself to police on Monday, after receiving an intended prosecution notice from police, a source in the force said.
A police spokeswoman said officers were still investigating the case and did not rule out taking further action against the black vehicle’s driver.
The Ma On Shan-bound route 803 minibus flipped on its side, smashing its windows and badly damaging the windscreen. The front of the Audi was also severely damaged.
The minibus driver, 57, was certified dead at the scene, while six passengers, aged 27 to 66, and the female Audi driver were injured.
