Police are scouring the city for a gang of robbers who assaulted a worker and fled with electronic parts worth more than HK$5 million (US$650,000) from an industrial building in northern Hong Kong on Wednesday.
The worker was delivering boxes of goods to a unit on the eighth floor of East Asia Industrial Building on Ho Tin Street in Tuen Mun soon after 3pm when he was attacked in a lift.
According to the force, three suspects carrying two trolleys followed him into the lift.
“He was beaten up inside the lift and pushed out of it on the seventh floor,” a police source said. No weapon was used in the hold-up.
He said 14 boxes of electronic parts, worth more than HK$5 million, were stolen.
The worker suffered facial and abdominal injuries and was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.

The source said the robbers fled in a black delivery van before officers arrived. Police scouted the area, but no arrests were made.
