Hong Kong police arrest suspect over 2 indecent assault cases in Tsuen Wan
- In both incidents, victims say they were groped while walking alone through a pedestrian underpass late at night
- Police say they have not ruled out the possibility that the man was also behind other similar assaults in the area

Hong Kong police have arrested a 47-year-old man suspected of indecently assaulting at least two women in Tsuen Wan over the past two months.
According to police, the two victims filed reports after they were both groped in separate incidents while walking alone around midnight through a pedestrian underpass on Ma Sim Pai Road near Hoi Pa Village South Terrace on August 15 and September 12, respectively.
Following an investigation, officers arrested the man, who said he worked as a cleaner, on Friday night in Tsuen Wan, where he lived.
“We do not rule out that he was also involved in other similar cases that happened in the district. We appeal to any victims or witnesses to come forward to police,” Inspector Wan Pik-yee said.
As of Saturday evening, the suspect was still in police custody.
Official figures show that reports of indecent assault, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, jumped by 69 per cent to 483 in the first half of this year compared with the same period in 2020.
