2 more Hong Kong child protection workers arrested on suspicion of abusing infants at Mong Kok facility, total reaches 18
- Police detain two more women in a growing abuse scandal at a facility run by the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children, as the total number of alleged victims rises to 33
- Law enforcement source says more arrests could follow, while only one-third of provided footage has been reviewed

The number of victims from the Mong Kok residential home, run by the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children (HKSPC), also rose to 33 as officers this week identified four more toddlers who were allegedly abused.
The facility had over 40 childcare workers and housed more than 100 children. Police said all the victims, aged one to three, had been sent to hospital for check-ups and treatment.
A police source said that further arrests were possible as officers reviewed more videos submitted by the HKSPC, having only sifted through about one-third of more than 60,000 hours of surveillance camera footage provided by the children’s home.
Two women, aged 46 and 56, were the latest suspects to be arrested when officers raided their homes in Sha Tin and Wong Tai Sin at about 7am on Friday.

The source said the pair were allegedly involved in several incidents which occurred in the playroom at the children’s home in late November.
