Hong Kong police to resume search for Abby Choi’s body parts on Wednesday, as officers dig up soccer-pitch-sized area of landfill
- First day of search failed to uncover new evidence, with force expecting operation to continue till Thursday
- Model’s friends and family had also gathered outside village flat where police suspect she was dismembered to pay their respects and call for ‘justice to be done’

Hong Kong police will resume scouring for the body parts of model Abby Choi Tin-fung that are still missing on Wednesday, while officers say they will need two more days to sift through a patch of landfill the size of a soccer pitch in the New Territories with the help of excavators and bulldozers.
More than 100 police officers combed through landfill in Ta Kwu Ling on Tuesday searching for Abby Choi’s remains. At the same time, her family and friends gathered outside the village flat where police suspect she was dismembered to pay their respects and called for “justice to be done”.
The group stood in a line in front of the house where parts of the socialite’s corpse were found in Tai Po’s Lung Mei Tsuen to burn incense and wish the soul of the deceased a good afterlife, in accordance with Taoist customs.

Police said the search operation was expected to last till Thursday, as the targeted area was about the size of a soccer pitch and five metres deep.
The mourners who gathered for the noon ritual on Tuesday included Choi’s partner when she died, Chris Tam, her parents and Tam’s family, as well as friends. The group was accompanied by Taoist priests.
“Rest in peace, my wife,” Tam said as he bowed before the ceremony’s altar.
Choi’s mother sobbed as Tam clasped her arm in support, while his own mother said her farewells.
