Hong Kong police are hunting two women accused of stealing gold necklaces from two elderly men after promising sex or massage services during the No 8 typhoon signal.
The first victim, 68, was allegedly approached by a suspected sex worker in her 40s on Pei Ho Street in Sham Shui Po on Monday at about 10.30am. He then followed her to a flat in a nearby building on Un Chau Street.
“When the man started undressing, the woman snatched his HK$18,000 (US$2,300) gold necklace and ran out of the flat,” a police spokesman said.
The man contacted his son, 34, who then called police.
Officers later found the father outside the building. He was not hurt in the incident.
Officers combed the area, but no arrests were made.
Soon after 1pm, a 76-year-old man sought help from police on Tai Ho Road in Tsuen Wan.
He told officers that he was earlier approached by a woman who had offered him massage services. He was then taken to a flat on Tai Ho Road.
