Hong Kong national security police are investigating family members of unionist Mung Siu-tat and ex-lawmaker Dennis Kwok Wing-hang in the latest move against eight wanted activists, the Post has learned.
A source familiar with the case said barrister Kwok’s parents and his older brother and sister-in-law were taken away by police for questioning on Thursday morning.
Kwok’s brother was released in the afternoon after being questioned by officers from the force’s National Security Department at Western Police Station. His parents and brother’s wife were also released after being questioned, the source said. No arrests were made.

Two days ago officers raided the Sha Tin home of Mung’s older brother. They escorted the man’s wife and son to a police station for questioning, according to the source.
He said the trio were released after being questioned by officers from the department. No arrests were made.
“They were suspected of assisting persons wanted by police to continue to commit acts and engage in activities that endanger national security,” the source said.
He said the investigation was still under way and further action, including arrests, was possible. “Police will act on the basis of actual circumstances and according to the law.”
