Hong Kong national security police have detained the sister-in-law of wanted ex-legislator Nathan Law Kwun-Chung for questioning in the latest move to cut off help and funding from the city for him, the Post has learned.

The woman, the wife of Law’s elder brother, was taken away by National Security Department officers after a raid on her flat in Tung Chung on Lantau Island on Saturday morning.

“She is suspected of assisting persons wanted by police to continue to commit acts and engage in activities that endanger national security,” a source familiar with the case said.

“An investigation is under way and further operations, including arrests, may be made.”

“In conducting any operation, police will act on the basis of actual circumstances and according to the law,” the source added.

The operation came a day after a woman was detained on suspicion of links to the wanted activist, now in Britain, and of connections to people involved in the now-disbanded opposition group Demosisto.
