Hong Kong police have arrested two men and confiscated suspected cocaine worth HK$100 million (US$12.8 million) found in a hidden compartment inside a shipping container and two vehicles in three rural areas in the New Territories.
Superintendent Wilson Tam Wai-shun of the narcotics bureau said on Monday the 95kg (209lbs) haul was part of a three-day crackdown on four drug trafficking syndicates, which resulted in the arrest of eight people and the seizure of HK$133 million in drugs.
Tam said 20kg of suspected cocaine was found hidden in two abandoned cars in Tai Po and Lok Ma Chau last Thursday. Officers arrested two men, aged 23 and 24, during the operation.
He added the two cars were used as mobile storage units by a drug trafficking syndicate.

Further investigations led officers to another 75kg of the same drug in a container used as an office in the Lung Yeuk Tau area of Fanling last Friday.
