Hong Kong prison officers have used pepper spray to subdue 13 detainees involved in a fight at a correctional facility in Stanley.

The Correctional Services Department on Wednesday said that the fight broke out at around 11.14pm the day before in a dormitory at the minimum-security Tung Tau Correctional Institution.

“Officers at the scene immediately ordered them to stop, called for reinforcements and applied [pepper spray] to subdue them after repeated warnings were ignored,” it said.
