Hong Kong police find dead man in drain in New Territories, investigating foul play

Hong Kong police are investigating if foul play was involved in the death of an elderly man whose body was found in a drain in the New Territories.

Officers were called in at around 11.08am on Wednesday when a worker found the body in the drainage channel on a slope near the Sham Tseng section of Castle Peak Road in Tsuen Wan.

A police spokesman said the victim was thought to be about 70 years old.

He added that the victim’s personal belongings were found at the scene.

The body was moved from the channel and placed in a green tent set up nearby on the pedestrian walkway.

Several officers wearing white protective suits were seen investigating the scene.
