Hong Kong police officer loses speed loader and 6 bullets

Force launches investigation and appeals to public to return items to authorities if found

A Hong Kong police officer has lost a speed loader and six 38 calibre bullets while on duty in Wong Tai Sin, the force has revealed, urging anyone who finds the items to return them.

The officer lost the speed loader and bullets on Friday, and the force had launched an investigation and searched the area upon learning what happened, it said on Saturday.

As of 9pm, the force had not received any reports of the items being found.

The case has been listed as “loss of government properties”, and the force reiterated that strict rules governing the custody and use of police equipment were in place.

It appealed to the public to hand over the items if found to the nearest police station or contact Wong Tai Sin district police station at 3661 6155.
