A Hong Kong superintendent molested and assaulted a woman four times over a seven-month period last year, including inside a police station on three occasions, a court heard on Tuesday.

Defendant Chan Kin-yee, 42, appeared in Sha Tin Court on Tuesday morning to face a charge of indecent assault and three counts of common assault. The four alleged assaults involved the same woman, whose identity was hidden from the public.

Chan is accused of indecently assaulting the woman between May 14 and 15, 2024, at a bar in Mong Kok called La La Bar.

Two assaults allegedly took place inside Tsing Yi Police Station between August and September and a third in November, the court heard.

Chan, who told the court that he intended to plead not guilty, was granted bail of HK$5,000 (US$641). The magistrate also placed restrictions on him leaving the city and contacting prosecution witnesses.

He will enter a plea in Fanling Court on Thursday.
