Hong Kong police arrest parent after boy, 5, found wandering alone

The boy was spotted walking alone at 100 Ching Tak Street after 7pm on Monday

Hong Kong police have arrested one of the parents of a five-year-old boy after the child was found wandering alone in Wong Tai Sin.

The force said on Tuesday that it had received an alert at 7.41pm the day before that the child was walking alone on 100 Ching Tak Street, where officers found him.

One of the boy’s parents was apprehended following an investigation, but it was not revealed whether the arrestee was the child’s mother or father.

The boy was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Yau Ma Tei for examination.

The police said an investigation was still under way.
