Hong Kong police have arrested 13 people in connection with the suspected murder of a 51-year-old man in Tuen Mun.
Acting senior superintendent Basil Tang Yick-kay said the suspects were intercepted at various locations, including the city’s airport, Tung Chung and Tai Po, after the New Territories North regional crime unit coordinated a manhunt on Monday and Tuesday.
The manhunt was in response to the discovery of the 51-year-old man on Yick Yuen Road, under a bridge at around 6am on Monday.
The victim, who was found unconscious and covered in blood by a passer-by, had suffered a knife wound to the head. His vehicle was located nearby, with bloodstains found inside.
A source earlier said the man had been identified as Zeng Pengshan, adding that the victim held a Hong Kong identity card.
Tang said the man’s home in San Sang Tsuen was about 2km (1.24 miles) north of where his body was found.
The victim’s seven-seater was quickly intercepted by two vehicles after leaving his home, preventing him from driving forward or backward, the senior officer said.
