Cathay passenger arrested for allegedly taking upskirt photos on Hong Kong flight
Man, 53, arrested after flight CX583 from Nagoya, Japan, lands in Hong Kong

Hong Kong police have arrested a passenger on a Cathay Pacific Airways flight from Japan on suspicion of taking upskirt pictures of cabin crew members.
A witness who was on board Monday’s flight, CX563 from Nagoya, told cabin crew that a man was using a camera to take upskirt pictures of stewardesses, a source said. Staff then reported the case to police.
When the flight landed at Hong Kong International Airport at about 4pm, police officers boarded the aircraft and took the suspect and the witness away for inquiries, the source said.
Police said a foreign man, 53, was arrested on suspicion of the unlawful recording of intimate parts after the force received a report from the alleged female victim, 26, at 3.51pm.
The force said the man was being held for questioning. The case has been passed on to the airport district crime investigation team.
A Cathay spokesman on Tuesday said the carrier took the incident “extremely seriously”, adding it had “zero tolerance” for any behaviour that compromises the safety or privacy of the crew and passengers.
He said the company had contacted the affected crew members to ensure that necessary support and assistance were provided.
