An elderly man in his eighties has been arrested in Hong Kong for allegedly pulling out a medical tube from a male hospital patient whom he mistook for his wife.

According to police, the incident happened on Thursday at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan, where the suspect was visiting his wife.

“The man was suspected to have mistakenly thought that the victim, who was a male patient also born in 1942, was his wife, so he pulled out his medical tube,” a spokesman said.
