Force received report from security guard suspecting woman had fainted inside flat at Choi Ming Court in Tseung Kwan O

Hong Kong police are investigating after a 76-year-old woman was found dead in a flat.
The force received a report at 2.53pm on Thursday from a security guard who suspected the woman had fainted inside the flat at Choi Ming Court in Tseung Kwan O.
The woman was declared dead at the scene by officers.
Police said an autopsy would be carried out to determine the cause of death.
According to a source with knowledge of the case, the woman had been living on her own at the address since 2002. She has one son, who emigrated to the United Kingdom three years ago.
“Police have contacted the woman’s son via telephone, where he stated that he had not been in contact with the woman for many years, so he did not know about the condition of the woman’s health,” the insider said.
