Hong Kong beautician pulled down woman’s underwear and grabbed her breasts during hard sell, court told
Customer says she felt ‘violated’ during visit to beauty clinic, where she says she paid more than HK$20,000 for what she was told was a HK$900 treatment
A woman felt “violated” when a beautician pulled down her underpants, grabbed her breasts and made comments about her body, while another harassed her to sign up for more than HK$100,000 in extra beauty services, she told a court on Tuesday morning.
Pang Po-yin said Lee Kwai-ping, 26, and Zheng Rulian, 45, duped her into paying HK$24,036 for what she was told was a HK$900 facial treatment, and was forced to subscribe to a separate breast treatment worth some HK$75,984 when she visited the Kwun Tong branch of Shynne Beauty on February 26 last year.
Lee and Zheng both denied two joint counts of engaging in an aggressive commercial practice.
Pang said she went to the beauty shop to get lymph therapy. She said Lee told her to pay an extra HK$900 for a facial treatment.
Lee said the treatment had mostly been paid for by a previous customer who had moved overseas, Pang said, and that the HK$900 was the remaining balance.
