Tree collapses on four vehicles, disrupting traffic at Hong Kong housing estate

Drivers and passengers in double-decker, minibuses and car escape unscathed

A tree collapsed on four passing vehicles and disrupted traffic outside a public housing estate in Fanling on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened outside Cheung Wah Estate in San Wan Road at about 4pm.

“Initial information showed the tree hit a double-decker, two minibuses and a car,” a police spokeswoman said.

She said the drivers and passengers of the vehicles were unhurt and had left the vehicles before emergency crews arrived. Officers were still investigating the cause of the incident.

The Transport Department said part of San Wan Road had to be closed and traffic was busy.
