A woman died on Friday after being found floating and unconscious in the sea off a beach in Hong Kong. The 36-year-old had been walking a dog in the city’s northeast. Her husband called police soon after 1.30pm to report the accident. Three fire engines and one ambulance headed to the beach off Nga Yiu Tau Tsuen on Sai Sha Road near Ma On Shan. “The woman was found floating in the sea about 20 metres off the shore,” a spokesman for the Fire Services Department said. Officers said it appeared the woman, an expatriate, left home in the village at about 11.30am, walking a dog and swimming. As she failed to return home before 1pm, her husband, fearing for her safety, went to find her. As he searched, he saw her floating in the sea. The woman was pulled unconscious from the water and taken to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin, where she was certified dead.
