Hong Kong man arrested for allegedly impersonating police officer to rape and steal from women
Suspect, 25, went out with victims after befriending them on social media site
A Hong Kong man was arrested on Tuesday night after three women were raped, indecently assaulted or had their money stolen by someone claiming to be a police officer.
Police said the 25-year-old suspect was arrested inside a flat at Lok Wah South Estate in Kwun Tong at about 10.30pm.
According to the force, the three women, aged 22 to 31, had met the man – who said he was a police officer – on a social media website. He befriended the first victim in October last year.
The three women went out with the man on separate occasions. He allegedly got drunk and raped and indecently assaulted two of the women.

The man also took a total of HK$1,500 in cash from two of the victims, police said.
The suspect, wearing a black T-shirt and jeans, was seen hooded as he was taken away from the Kwun Tong flat. Officers also collected some items from the flat for their investigation.
The force’s Mong Kok crime unit is looking into the case, and police have appealed for other potential victims to come forward.
