HK$170,000 in valuables reported missing from Hong Kong home of Jackie Chan’s ex-lover

Former beauty queen Elaine Ng claims losing clothing, rings and guitars

A former beauty queen and lover of action superstar Jackie Chan called police on Sunday night after she found HK$170,000 (US$21,782) in valuables and some clothes missing from her Hong Kong flat.

Officers went to the flat in Happy Valley, a residential area just off Causeway Bay, after receiving a call from former Miss Asia winner, Elaine Ng Yi-lei, 45.

“Police were told that some clothing, two rings worth HK$70,000 [and] two guitars worth HK$100,000 had gone missing from the flat,” a spokesman for the force said.

The case was classified as theft, and investigations are ongoing, police said. No one has been arrested.

Home burglaries on Hong Kong’s richest up more than 70 per cent

Ng won the Miss Asia pageant in 1990 and went on to star in TVB dramas. Her relationship with Chan came to light in 1999, when after much speculation she announced that she was pregnant and had had a relationship with the star. Chan said at the time he had “only committed a fault that every single man in the world commits”.

According to official statistics, police handled 14,087 reports of theft across the city in the first seven months of this year, down 3.5 per cent down compared with the same period last year.
