Girl, 17, goes missing after leaving Mid-Levels home in Hong Kong

Police appeal for help finding teenager after she failed to return home on Sunday night

Hong Kong police have appealed for help in the search for a teenage girl missing since Sunday.

Chin Yu-ying, 17, was last seen on Sunday afternoon when she left her home on Babington Path in the Mid-Levels.

Her family reported her disappearance to police on Monday after she failed to return home during the night.
According to officers, the girl is 1.62 metres tall, weighs 50kg and is of thin build. She has a long face and long black hair.

“She was last seen wearing a long-sleeved grey chequered shirt, dark trousers, black shoes, a white watch and carrying a black canvas bag,” police said in a statement issued on Monday afternoon.

The force appealed to anyone with information to contact officers on +852 3660 1040 or 9886 0034, or notify any police station.

Officers from the Hong Kong Island regional missing persons unit were handling the case.
