Three district councillors from the pro-Beijing Federation of Trade Unions (FTU) have left the group's logo off their publicity banners, raising questions about whether they are embarrassed by their legislative allies' botched vote on political reform ahead of November's local elections.

The trio - Amelia Lau Mei-lo from Kwai Tsing and Eastern district pair Michael Hui Lam-hing and Stanley Ho Ngai-kam - had previously printed the federation's logo on banners hung in their constituencies.

But Lau omitted the logo in a banner hung recently at Kwai Shing West Estate that carried her photograph and a notice about a fare discount for elderly people on four minibus routes.

The logo was also missing from Hui's banners hung outside Hing Tung Estate in Sai Wan Ho, and from Ho's banner on Shing Tai Road in Heng Fa Chuen. The publicity material appeared to have been put up recently, as they were promoting activities this week.

All three denied the omissions had anything to do with the bungled vote in the Legislative Council last month, although residents suspected otherwise.

"Of course [the incidents] are related," a Hing Tung resident said. "Hui also concealed his FTU identity during the 2011 district council elections."
