The Newspaper Society of Hong Kong stood up for the power of print media on Wednesday as the media group re-elected its top leadership.

“In the face of media convergence in a highly competitive business environment, the structure of the media industry has undergone enormous changes,” the society said in a statement on Wednesday.

“We strongly believe that traditional media plays an irreplaceable role of providing credible, objective and fair news reports.”
