The Post has launched the first episode of a new video talk show that will be a flagship platform for concise and incisive interviews with local, regional and global newsmakers.
Each 20-minute episode of Talking Post, to be released every two weeks initially, will feature conversations that cover everything from current affairs and politics to entertainment and lifestyle.
“These are essentially conversations with the people who matter, or help you to understand what matters, in this world of fast-paced, often bewildering, news that impacts all of us,” said chief news editor Yonden Lhatoo, who will start the signature series as host, using his many years of interviewing and commentating experience as both a television and newspaper journalist.

The programme leverages on the expertise of the video team at the Post which has had substantial success in capturing a sizeable audience online with its short clips, audiovisual reports and long-form documentaries that garner millions of clicks.
“We wanted to create a flagship programme as a platform for discussion and debate – one-on-one, toe-to-toe discussions where nothing is off the table,” director of video Mat Booth said.
“We’ll be able to showcase the inside story from people at the centre of important events, giving our audience insight into newsmakers, celebrities and thought leaders from around our region and across the globe.”
The first segment, released on Saturday, showcases a candid conversation with Hong Kong police chief Raymond Siu Chak-yee.
