Firefighters put out a hill fire in northern Hong Kong on Sunday afternoon after battling the flames for more than 25 hours.
The trail of flames near Tai Tong in Yuen Long stretched as far as 50 metres (164 feet) at 11.14am, but by 3.30pm was about five metres, according to the Fire Services Department.
The blaze broke out at 2.49pm the day before and previously measured at 200 metres.
The Government Flying Service has also deployed a helicopter to help with firefighting efforts in the area.
The blaze was extinguished at 4pm on Sunday, and no one was injured.
Authorities earlier said they suspected the blaze had been caused by wild grass catching fire.
Jason Leung Min-kin, a Yuen Long district councillor, said in the morning the fire had produced large amounts of smoke.
“The weather is dry and the winds are strong. And residents are safe,” he wrote on social media.
Police told the Post the fire was mentioned in two reports from residents on Saturday, including a woman who spotted flames at the Organic Ecopark in Yuen Long.
