An Australian man, 41, has been found dead in the Grand Hyatt hotel in Hong Kong, with police suspecting his death may have been caused by a drug overdose.

The force said on Wednesday that they received a report from the luxury hotel in Wan Chai at around 9.09pm the previous day that a man had collapsed in his room.

Officers found the 41-year-old lying in the bathroom and pronounced him dead at the scene.
