A 66-year-old woman has died and her three-year-old grandson has been injured after being hit by a car in Hong Kong.
Police were alerted at 8.41am on Friday about the accident on Lee On Road, near the Shun Lee Disciplined Services Quarters, in Sau Mau Ping, Kowloon.
Police said a private car driven by a 51-year-old woman was travelling along Lee On Road towards Shun Lee Estate at 8.38am. As it approached 32 Lee On Road, the vehicle reportedly knocked down a woman, 66, and a three-year-old boy who were crossing the street.
The woman sustained a serious head injury, the police force said. The boy suffered facial and limb injuries.
The pair were taken to United Christian Hospital in Kwun Tong, police said, adding that the woman was certified dead at 9.26am.
The driver had been arrested for dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, police said, adding that she was being detained for inquiries.
