Woman arrested for brandishing cleaver at Hong Kong restaurant staff, police
Police say woman had grown aggressive after dispute and was subdued by a dozen officers

A woman has been arrested for brandishing a cleaver at restaurant staff and police officers after a dispute over a payment issue at a beef noodle shop in northern Hong Kong.
When officers arrived, the 32-year-old woman refused to cooperate and continued to wave the 30cm-long (12-inch) cleaver around.
A source said that the woman had tried to pay for her meal using an e-payment platform on her phone but the battery was flat and she could not.
“The person who reported the case had suggested the woman charge her phone on-site, but the arrested person became agitated and dashed into the kitchen for a cleaver and a pair of scissors,” the source said.
The source added that the restaurant owner’s phone had been damaged by the suspect.
In a viral video circulating online, the woman, wearing a black surgical mask, is seen waving the blade in an agitated state, making repeated slashing motions.
