Children among 10 hurt as Hong Kong KMB bus window smashes

  • Boy and two girls among passengers sent to hospital after mystery breakage in Tai Po

A boy and two girls were among 10 passengers injured on Wednesday when a Hong Kong bus window smashed as the vehicle was passing through Tai Po.

The injured had to be hospitalised after the incident, which took place just after 5pm on Ting Kok Road.

Police said the cause of the breakage was unknown. The smash happened as the KMB double-decker, running route 71K, reached Tai Po Jockey Club Clinic.

Emergency personnel were sent to the scene after the bus driver, who was unhurt, reported the incident to police.

“Initial information showed 10 passengers – one man, six women, one boy and two girls – were injured,” a police spokeswoman said.

“The injured were taken conscious to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for treatment.”

Police were investigating the cause.
