A tram was derailed in Hong Kong’s busy financial district of Central on Wednesday, leading to a service delay and traffic disruption for about 45 minutes.
The vehicle hit a metallic object on the track, its operator said.
The incident happened outside the Bank of East Asia headquarters at about 2pm when the westbound tram was travelling along Des Voeux Road, according to police.

A police spokeswoman said no one was injured in the incident.

The Transport Department said the westbound tram service from Ice House Street in Central to Western Market Terminus in Sheung Wan had been suspended.
