2 taxi drivers killed in accident on Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor
Both drivers were hit by third vehicle while they were discussing an earlier collision

Two taxi drivers were killed on Saturday after they were hit by a third vehicle on a Hong Kong highway while they discussed an earlier collision.
Police said a passenger in one of the taxis was also hurt in the accident, which occurred on the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor at 2.59pm. The man behind the wheel of the third vehicle, a Range Rover, was arrested for dangerous driving.
“The two taxis had stopped in the middle of the highway where their drivers were having a discussion when a private car crashed into them as it could not stop in time,” a police spokesman said.

The force said the two taxi drivers were taken to Tin Shui Wai Hospital for treatment but they were later pronounced dead.
The taxi passenger, who suffered light injuries, was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital.
Video footage circulating online showed a red taxi and a green cab were involved in the collision, with another vehicle seen in the distance.
A similar accident took place in March on Tate’s Cairn Highway in Sha Tin when the male driver of a private car died and a cabby was injured after a truck crashed into their stationary vehicles. The two drivers had pulled over and got out of their vehicles to check the damage after their cars collided.
Secretary for Transport and Logistics Lam Sai-hung offered his deep condolences to the families of the deceased and expressed concern about Saturday’s accident.
