Flushing water supply resumes in Hong Kong’s Tseung Kwan O but road still closed
Water Supplies Department anticipates traffic lanes affected by burst underground pipe will reopen by noon on Wednesday

Flushing water supply to nearly 30,000 households in Hong Kong’s Tseung Kwan O has gradually been restored after an underground pipe burst, but traffic on the affected road is only expected to return to normal by Wednesday noon.
The Transport Department said on Tuesday morning that all Kowloon-bound lanes of Wan Po Road near the private development Oscar By the Sea were closed to traffic due to a water main bursting in the early hours.
The Water Supplies Department said that the saltwater supply was suspended after the 900mm diameter pipe burst. The pipe supplies flushing water to areas including Lohas Park, Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate and Tiu Keng Leng.
The department confirmed on Tuesday evening that “relevant pipe repair work has been completed” on Wan Po Road and the affected flushing water supply was also restored at night.

It said it was carrying out the remaining road surface restoration work and anticipated that affected traffic lanes would reopen by noon on Wednesday.
