Japan removals firm offers discreet ‘secret service’ to relocate abused women
- Tokyo house movers provide stealthy relocation service for abuse victims, receive much praise on mainland social media

A Japanese company that offers a hush-hush removal service for women suffering abuse has won high praise on social media in China.
Night Escape House was founded 23 years ago by an unidentified Japanese woman victim of serious domestic violence.
After escaping her home with her dog, a conversation with a police officer about her ordeal inspired her to launch the removal service to help other victims.
The company has helped more than 2,500 people, 80 per cent of whom suffered domestic violence or stalking.
It provides a 24-hour consultation service and receives between one and 20 enquiries every day. About 120 people go on to actually use the removal service each year.

It costs between 50,000 and 200,000 yen (US$1,200) for moves in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
