A four-year-old Chinese child influencer with more than 20 million followers is facing a torrent of vicious online abuse, including death threats and insults.

The child’s mother has said she may take legal action over the abuse.

Yang Yiyao, who was born on October 30, 2020, in Tongren, Guizhou province, southern China, is better known online as “Yao Yi Yao Little Meat Bun”.

With more than 20 million followers on social media, she has become one of China’s most impressive child influencers.

Since launching her channel in March 2021, she has risen to fame and has been called “electronic daughter” among fans for her vibrant personality and creative humour.

Her quirky antics have brought joy and surprise to many viewers.

In one popular video posted in August 2022, the then two-year-old is seen wearing a facial mask while struggling to lift and drink from a drinks bottle almost as big as she is. The clip received more than 3.5 million likes.
