A woman from central China has made waves by selling courses that teach women the techniques of seductive gazes and flirtation to rejuvenate their marriages.
Now in her late 40s, Zhou Yuan, from Changsha, Hunan province, left her career in banking to start a beauty salon before founding the Black and White Sexual Intelligence School.
Zhou has become known as the “Godmother of sexual intelligence”.
She defines sexual intelligence as the ability to attract men by combining sexual ability, psychological insight and personal charm.

Recently, her courses on enhancing female sexual appeal went viral, amassing over 200,000 followers on mainland social media.
In one video, she unveils a technique for eye contact, advising women to “form an X shape with your eyes and body”.
She says: “A stiff response can appear cold. Keep your head still and move your eyes; this creates a much softer, more alluring effect.”
In another clip, she teaches how to use a flirtatious tone, suggesting: “Soften your voice and raise the pitch at the end of each word. Most importantly, when asking your husband for help, always compliment him.”

She also shares seductive phrases, body movements and fashion tips.
Zhou offers both online and offline training sessions, with prices starting at 9.9 yuan (US$1.5) for online courses that include live-streams and videos to 88,000 yuan (US$13,000) per session for exclusive workshops.
According to Lanjing News, Zhou’s paid courses have generated more than 24 million yuan (US$3.5 million), attracting tens of thousands of students.
Despite claims that she holds certifications as a psychological counsellor and reproductive health consultant, these qualifications have not been officially verified.

Her company also markets adult products and beauty medical supplies.
Last August, she hosted a two-day “Sexy Revelation” camp in Xiamen, southern China, where she and her students wore sexy underwear while exploring “the science of body pleasure”.
Zhou also lectured on sexual wisdom during the event.
A former employee of Zhou’s company told Jinan Daily: “These offline sessions are exclusively for women, and the content is quite daring; it even made me feel embarrassed.”
The ex-employee revealed that many participants were successful women who hoped to salvage their marriages after facing relationship difficulties.
One course participant said: “Zhou is an incredibly charming mentor. Her course taught me how to embrace my body and regain my confidence. The sensuality has brought new life to my marriage.”
However, Zhou’s rise to fame has also sparked a significant backlash.
Some critics dismiss her courses as “mistress training”, while others accuse her of teaching women to “pander to men” at the expense of their dignity.
Zhou insists that her lessons are designed to empower women.

She says raising one’s sexual intelligence is about learning to take control and assert dominance in intimate relationships.
Her popularity has also triggered broader discussions about gender values and the ethics of paid self-improvement courses.
One online observer said: “Zhou tapped into the romantic anxieties of successful women. Her business could easily slip into a grey area of the porn industry.”
Another wrote: “She wrapped self-debasement in the guise of empowerment, objectifying women and undermining public morals.”
As of January 23, Zhou’s social media accounts were banned and her courses were removed.
