A 41-year-old Chinese businessman has attracted more than 1.5 million followers online and conquered the hearts of his women customers by modelling the high-heel shoes he sells them.

Wu Nan, from southwest China’s Sichuan province, owns an online outlet selling women’s shoes which specialises in high heels.

By taking the unusual sales path of becoming a model himself, his brand saw monthly trade volumes reach six million yuan (nearly US$900,000), Chinese media outlet Star Video reported on January 12.

In viral videos posted on Wu’s Douyin account, the name of which translates into English as “Uncle Wu Who Wears High Heels”, he can be seen doing various sports exercises in a park wearing seven-centimetre heels to demonstrate their quality and “suitability for mothers and working women”.

When he is not making exercise videos, Wu walks elegantly with a female model as they chat about the shape, colour and comfort level of the shoes they are wearing, in scenes reminiscent of an ordinary shopping day out with the girls.

Wu, who has EU size 39 feet, always wears cropped and flared jeans when modeling, because “these are the best trousers for high-heel shoes”, he told China Economy Net.
